I'm not much on heavy metal or rap, but one thing I do like is Country.. OLD COUNTRY included.. I love Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, June Carter Cash, Little Jimmy Dickens, Loretta Lynn, and Tammy Wynette (Just to name a few). It's funny to think about how much I really REALLY enjoy Johnny Cash music. Even with the drugs and drinking and infidelity, through it all, I love Johnny Cash. I find so much comfort in his life story and honestly, it gives me hope.
To think that a man can literally go to the edge of hell and back is just a testament to the love of Jesus and how people can always turn their lives around. But they honestly have to be willing and have the support to make any changes and straighten out their own life. I think that the love story of Johnny and June stands as a testament to June's faith in God and the power that God can have even on those who feel farthest from him. I guess that I want that. I want that grace. I don't think anyone wants to go through the horror involved in overcoming a drug addiction, but we all have our demons. Some larger than others. Even if someone screws up so badly, there is always grace.. the redemption of a loving God who is just waiting for us to call out to him.
That's all I have to say about that
